Derek Olinger Exhibition: "Land of the Sun"

The Martin Art Gallery is pleased to present "Land of the Sun", an exhibition of artist Derek Olinger's paintings. Olinger's current work is best described as a mix of magial realism and modern realist painting in which he creates dream-like subjects in fantastical settings. The work is marked by a strong presence of the unusual and unexpected. Olinger's work draws influences from cinema, literature, pop culture, and art history in order to explore myths and ideas in contemporary culture. "Land of the Sun" will be on view in the Baker Center for the Arts Galleria from Monday, May 22 - Friday, August 18, 2023.
